Features
Native 4K DCI Resolution of 4096 x 2160 Provides Lifelike, Highly Detailed Images
Eye-opening 4K resolution produces incredibly detailed, high-impact images that are significantly sharper and more true-to-life than lower resolutions.
At 4096 x 2160, Canon's 4K resolution generates a bigger, richer picture made up of more than 8.8 million pixels, meeting the Digital Cinema Initiative (DCI) standard for 4K cinema as well as the QFHD standard resolution (3840 x 2160) for 4K TV. In comparison to popular Full HD (1920 x 1080), the REALiS 4K5020Z laser projector's native 4K resolution produces four times the resolution.
This high resolution can help in a variety of applications ranging from viewing highly detailed works of art in a museum or gallery, to producing highly accurate video and images with a wide depth-of-field to get as close as possible to a real-life experience via a simulation system.
Up to 5000 Lumens and Up to 20,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio (Up to 3600:1 Native Contrast Ratio)*2 Deliver Bright, Engaging Images
The REALiS 4K5020Z projects clear, bright images at up to 5000 lumens with a contrast ratio of up to 20,000:1 when the Dynamic Contrast function is used – and with a native contrast ratio of up to 3600:1*2. This helps ensure deep blacks, bright whites and outstanding color, clarity, depth and dimension for high-quality images. *2 All white, all black. When Iris function is set to “Close 9”.
Laser Light Source Provides Longevity, Versatile Installation and a Wide Color Range by Covering 99.9% of the sRGB Color Space
The projector's laser light source provides up to 20,000*4 hours in standard use of continuous, reliable, high-quality projection. The hours of operation can be nearly doubled when utilizing the Long Duration modes to up to 20 times longer than a conventional lamp's life. Because there is no lamp to replace, operation is virtually maintenance-free with minimal downtime, which is a key consideration for challenging and hard-to-reach installations. This keeps running costs relatively low when looking at the total life of the product.
LCOS Technology with AISYS-enhancement Provides Exceptional, Seamless Image Quality
The exceptional imaging performance of this projector starts with Canon's proprietary AISYS (Aspectual Illumination System) Optical Engine, which utilizes advanced light management technology to maximize the contrast and brightness benefits of the projector's LCOS (Liquid Crystal on Silicon) display panels, delivering superior reflectivity and durability while accomplishing high luminance.
Canon's LCOS panels are relatively small in size, allowing for an overall compact projector that delivers high-resolution and high-quality results. With the LCOS panels, the pixels are close together, producing images that are virtually seamless, where with other technologies there may be grid lines visible from their larger spaces between pixels. The result with this projector is an exceptional 4K resolution picture with crisp detail and true-to-life color.
Seven Optional Genuine Canon Interchangeable Lenses with Spigot Lens Mount System and Expanded Lens Shift, including New RS-SL07RST 4K Standard Zoom Lens
Seven optional interchangeable Genuine Canon lenses enable a wide variety of applications for exceptional image quality and flexibility. A spigot lens mount system is designed so that the lens can be quickly and securely installed in virtually seconds.
Canon has introduced the newest addition to its family of Genuine Canon interchangeable lenses, the all-new RS-SL07RST 4K Standard Zoom Lens*3, which supports curved surface projection on domed ceilings and other unique installations. The lens features Canon's “Red Line” seal of excellent performance, certifying the RS-SL07RST as an extremely high-quality 4K lens. Using Ultra-low Dispersion glass, the lens projects high-resolution images with reduced color shift and minimal color bleeding. Its innovative Marginal Focus feature allows for accurate projection onto a spherical surface. In addition, it features a 1.34–2.35:1 throw ratio and a generous lens shift of ±73% vertical and ±11% horizontal*7.
Dual Image Engines Execute Highly Complex Image Processing for Uncompressed 4K 60p Playback and Upscaling of Non-4K Content
Canon's advanced, powerful dual image processing engines produce exceptional reproduction of virtually all content. The engines also allow the projector to offer a variety of features that help enhance the quality of still and motion images, making them more realistic and impactful.
High Dynamic Range (HDR)
The REALiS 4K5020Z supports High Dynamic Range (HDR), exhibiting bright highlights and deep blacks for a wider dynamic range. The wider dynamic range expands the contrast and the color, both extremely important factors when it comes to image accuracy. Combined with highly detailed 4K resolution, this helps provide the ultimate viewing experience.
Advanced Professional Calibration Settings Ensure Image Quality is Maximized
Periodical calibration ensures maximum color and brightness performance. Canon's internal sensors make this process simple, adjusting gamma and brightness back to the original specification.
Multiple Image Modes including DICOM Simulation Mode*8 for Optimal Image Quality Reproduction
The projector includes pre-set Image Modes and additional customizable Image Modes to suit a wide range of user preferences and projection environments.
Image Adjustment and Advanced Adjustment Options for Customizable Image Characteristics
This projector offers extensive image quality adjustments to help users customize the image to meet their specific projection needs.
Motion Blur Reduction*9
The projector includes Canon's latest Motion Blur Reduction*9 feature for improved visibility when movement is fast. By inserting extra frames to video content, motion blur is reduced and the clarity of graphics and text on fast-moving objects is preserved. Three different modes (Strong, Weak and Off) are included for flexibility, with each depending on the level of movement and type of video content. *9 When motion blur reduction is activated, brightness will be affected.
Installation Versatility through Custom Settings of Brightness and Noise with Operation Mode and Light Source Mode, as well as More Install-Friendly Functions
Operating Mode Four work modes allow adjustment to maximize projector life. Normal: Brightness is set by Light Mode settings. Fixed Brightness: Brightness does not change due to aging. Maximum brightness is set at 20–70% of initial brightness. Longer Duration 1: To be used for a long period of time. Maximum brightness is 20–70% of current brightness. Longer Duration 2: Used for longer periods of time. Maximum brightness is set to 20–50% of current brightness.

Built-in Real-time Clock
The built-in Real-time Clock allows scheduling of specific operations such as set startup and shutdown at chosen times. This helps to manage power consumption by creating operating schedules which can result in extended projection life. For convenience, Real-time Clock settings can be accessed via the projector's own user-friendly graphical interface.
Low Power Consumption and Simplified Maintenance
This projector uses a relatively low amount of power per lumen. It offers multiple power-management settings that allow the user to preset stand-by durations, execute power operations and auto-assign functions to the power button.
Multiple power-management settings also help to conserve projector life, allowing the user to preset stand-by durations and execute power on and off operations – all with the benefit of a Real-Time Clock, accessible via Web UI or internal GUI.
Canon Service Tool for PJ App
Canon's free PJ App makes it possible to control Canon projectors remotely and conveniently from iOS® devices. Wi-Fi® connection enables the clear display of the projector menu on the screen of your tablet or smartphone – supporting simplified set-up, operation and maintenance. It's the ideal solution for making adjustments to spherical or domed surface projections where menus may be difficult to view and navigate. The app also brings speed and clarity to error correction and allows multi-projection across up to 9 projectors – independently and simultaneously.
