The Canon Direct Print and Scan for Mobile (DPSM) application is supported by the combined functionality of Multifunctional Embedded Application Platform (MEAP) software that runs on Canon's imageRUNNER ADVANCE platform and certain imageRUNNER multifunction products (MFPs). DPSM is also supported bycertain MEAP enabled imageRUNNER desktop laser beam printers (LBPs) and the DPSM mobile client application that resides on an iPhone®, iPad®, Android™ tablet/phone and BlackBerry® smartphone. This pairing provides users with a driver-less, server-less mobile print and scan solution which easily integrates with the Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE platform and certain imageRUNNER MFPs.
The Canon Direct Print and Scan for Mobile application helps expand the capabilities of your mobile workforce with an array of printing and scanning features. Users can perform the following:
- Print PDF, TXT, JPG, TIFF, and Photo files, as well as Web-pages to the Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE platform, certain imageRUNNER MFPs, and certain MEAP enabled imageRUNNER desktop laser beam printers (LBPs).
- Scan hard copy documents from the Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE platform and certain imageRUNNER MFPs to their mobile devices.
- Manage print and scan options on the Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE platform, certain imageRUNNER MFPs, and certain MEAP enabled imageRUNNER desktop laser beam printers (LBPs) from their mobile devices.
- Track mobile print jobs
- Webpage printing
- WiFi automation

Features
Provides mobile printing and scanning for Corporate/SMB environments that utilize the Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE platform, certain imageRUNNER MFPs, and certain MEAP enabled imageRUNNER desktop laser beam printers (LBPs)
Integrate with any Canon supported authentication method (e.g., AA-Prox, ULM, SSO, Dept. ID. 3rd Party MEAP applications, etc.)
Provides mobile printing and scanning for iPhone, iPad, Android tablets/phones, and Blackberry smartphones
Allows Administrators to customize DPSM to suit business requirements. The following options can be configured:
- Print options (enable/disable)
- Scan options (enable/disable)
- Security settings (enable job tracking and secure printing)
- Barcode settings (print or share barcode, configure what is displayed on barcode screen)
- Logging settings (configure console and logging files for application reporting/analysis)
- Configuration servlet (configure login ID and password to access Configuration servlet)
Provides users with several types of formats to save scan jobs: PDF, JPEG, TIFF, XPS, PPTX
Provides Blackberry users the ability to print email bodies
Provides iPhone, iPad, and Android tablet/phone users the ability to print Web-pages but not email bodies at this time
Allows existing files and images or those scanned via Direct Print and Scan for Mobile to be emailed from or saved to mobile device
NOTE: Direct Print and Scan for Mobile does NOT support PIXMA, imageCLASS, SELPHY or single-function laser beam printers.
NOTE: imageRUNNER LBP devices do not support scan functionality.
