Object Generator is designed for enterprise environments that use IBM AS/400 mainframes. Object Generator integrates Canon MFP printers to connect to the IBM AS/400 systems. It simplifies the creation of Workstation Customization Objects for use with Host Print Transform (HPT) on AS/400, iSeries, System I, and now the Power Systems services.
Overview
With the use of simple menus, Customization Objects for Canon printers can easily be created and integrated into the host print workflow. Printing and customization can be achieved through Workstation Customization Objects, which are included with the software and can be automatically linked to the print queue.
Benefits
Object Generator’s easy installation and user-friendly configuration interfaces provide feature, printer, and document control, as well as quick setup. Object Generator supports all current PCL-enabled Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE series and select imageRUNNER, imageCLASS, and imagePRESS devices.
Object Generator is licensed per AS/400 server and allows for unlimited device connections to the AS/400. Each purchased license includes three (3) years of maintenance. Maintenance includes software upgrades and device support. Additional one (1) year maintenance is also available at point of purchase, or at expiration, to continue maintenance beyond the initial three (3) year agreement included with the initial license purchase.
NOTE: Object Generator does not support the full requirements for Intelligent Printer Data Stream (IPDS) printing. For customers interested in IPDS printing, Canon Solutions America recommends varioPRINT and imagePRESS digital production presses with PRISMAsync controllers. Consult with your Local Production Specialist for more information.
